Ingredients

grams sweet Italian sausage (removing casing)

cup warm pizza or pasta sauce

slice fresh tomato

slice cos lettuce

slice canned beetroot (optional)

Directions

  1. Prepare barbecue grill.

  2. Combine beef, sausage, onion, and seasoning in a bowl. Form into 4 patties about 1-inch thick.

  3. Grill patties about 6 minutes per side, until cooked through.

  4. Top each patty with 1 slice of mozzarella shortly before removing it from the grill.

  5. Brush olive oil on the inside of each hamburger bun and lightly toast on grill until golden.

  6. Spread some of the warm sauce on each hamburger bun and optionally add 1 slice of beetroot, lettuce and tomato then place a burger on the bun.
