85 grams minced beef
57.5 grams sweet Italian sausage (removing casing)
1 tablespoons onion, chopped
0.25 teaspoon Italian herb seasoning
2 slices mozzarella cheese
0.5 tablespoon olive oil
2 hamburger buns
0.125 cup warm pizza or pasta sauce
2 slice fresh tomato
2 slice cos lettuce
2 slice canned beetroot (optional)


  • Prepare barbecue grill.
  • Combine beef, sausage, onion, and seasoning in a bowl. Form into 4 patties about 1-inch thick.
  • Grill patties about 6 minutes per side, until cooked through.
  • Top each patty with 1 slice of mozzarella shortly before removing it from the grill.
  • Brush olive oil on the inside of each hamburger bun and lightly toast on grill until golden.
  • Spread some of the warm sauce on each hamburger bun and optionally add 1 slice of beetroot, lettuce and tomato then place a burger on the bun.
